As part of a routine supervisory visit, a team from the Department of Health Services toured two rural health facilities in Mandera East — Kamor and Neboi Health Centres — as well as Mandera County Teaching and Referral Hospital.
The team assessed service delivery, focusing on staff presence and the availability of essential medicines. It was noted that the current fill rate from Kenya Medical Supplies Authority (KEMSA) stands at about 80%, with the remaining 20% expected to be supplied through back orders.
Residents were encouraged to make full use of the health services available across the various facilities.
The supervisory team was led by Chief Officer for Medical Services, Ibrahim Mohamed Ali, and included senior officials from the Department of Health Services, alongside the CEO of Mandera County Teaching and Referral Hospital, Okash Abdullahi.
